UTCI is a 'me-too' player in HB-LEDs at this point.

That is true, yes.

But to say that CREE is the ultimate judge of value in SiC technology for applications in general is giving them too much credit. The Russians have been investigating silicon carbide since long before Cree existed and some of that tradition is represented by Sterling. They didn't just get into it yesterday. Of course, investigating it and doing something useful with it are two different things.
