i do not disagree with you... but as far as SiC goes i believe sterling's largest crystal is approx 1 1/4" in D and loaded with flaws. they are at the same point cree was some 6 years ago. to go forward they will have to workaround cree's patents...will be interesting. cree is completing the conversion to high quality 3" crystals and has demoed a 4". i believe the little guys ability to find a market says more for SiC demand than anything else.
