Latency is more of concern of mine than sustained bandwidth

Then you'd want an 840-based system which shows the best latency along with the best sustained bandwidth.

If I were you, however, I wouldn't worry about the nit details. The recent PC Mag and PC World benchmarks showed the PIII/820/RDRAM based Dell systems handily beating anything else on the market in virtually all of their benchmarks. Why does it matter what's inside if it wins virtually every benchmark?
