I absolutely agree Tom.... I'm a lurker and have been so for many months but in my opinion, what has taken place here is
very sad indeed. I think that Jill and Poet have destroyed this thread by doing exactly as edamo and Pal have said and
that's to comment on practically every post. I've never read a thread where the person who started it took such control of
it and felt it was their thread and if you have their blessing, you can post on it. Also, it's very apparent that they are
picking and choosing whom and what posts they are moderating. They had several opportunities to show how fair minded
they were by denouncing posts that had personal attacks towards edamo and Pal but chose to side with and inflame the
situation even more by adding more insults.
I agree also. I'm primarily a lurker here (I post once in a long while) and a more active participant on the original G and K thread. The behavior on this thread in the past few weeks reminds me of what went on last fall on the G and K thread, which was a flame war over perceived sexism that was initiated by Jill and Poet. That thread was seriously damaged at the time (it has since recovered well), and Jill and Poet went on to start their own thread. (My view of the history, which may be seen differently by others...)
I have lurked on this thread and have found some useful information. I do agree that it has been loosely moderated (I made a point a few months ago about discussion regarding non G and K options strategies and their greater risk, and was politely told by Jill that they liked it this way...I guess the riskier options came back to bite...), and that some have been free to flame others by posting PM's (i.e. LOF) while others are blasted for it. The "you go girls" in response to almost every post have also been tiresome, and are part of why I haven't been a more active participant.
Further, I think that Poet's recent attack on Edamo and PAL was quite inappropriate. It was character assassination, and, to use her vernacular, revealed more about the poster than about who she was speculating about. I am a psychologist and what she did in that post was disappointing (to say the least).
Finally, I have gotten most of my useful information here from Edamo, PAL, Steve, Tom, and a few others. I hope that the spun-off moderated thread serves it's purpose, but I will be staying here and hoping that those who provide useful options information and discussion will do the same.
To Jill and Poet (and LOF), I wish prosperous investing.
