Ali, of course they have been wrong in the past and will be wrong in the future, anyone that stick his neck out and makes forecast is bound to err from time to time. I for one disagree with their long term forecast of the total DRAM market in 2003, that does not make my forecast any better than theirs. In hindsight, they were misled by the forecasts suggested to them by INTC and RMBS, both of which did not expect the delays in the launch of the 820, nor some of the problems found with the three slots RIMMs. Yet, they have many more contacts in the industry, and a public record of following the industry, than Carl or you have. That is the point David was trying to make. Basing your own "qualifications" on the fact that "Big Brother" (or Uncle Sam) granted you a visa, is at best silly, and at worst contemptuous.
Frankly, I would rather we not dwell on that question of qualifications, since it is not an area that relates to our respective opinions on RMBS' prospects. We might have a Nobel Laureate posting here that understand very well how electrons are supposed to behave but has absolutely no comprehension as to what mass psychology move stocks one way or another, or for that matter, what are required prerequisites for the successful launch of a new product.
