* Implied volatility of CISCO SYSTEMS rose as the stock lost
ground ahead of fiscal third-quarter earnings due on Tuesday. "The
Barron's article was the forerunner in my mind," said designated
primary market maker Patrick Hamilton at LETCO with the Chicago
Board Options Exchange. "I think the interesting thing is that the
article did not shed any new light on Cisco that people don't
already know," he said. Hamilton noted implied volatility for the
May 65 calls stood at around 81 percent, up 10 percent from
Friday. (Reuters 01:42 PM ET 05/08/2000)
