Self-proclaimed???
I am an internationally recognized master of nuances of the English language!!!

Proof: CNBC characterized my writing as too 'acerbic' for my thoughts:
Message 13532904

Unless one is master of nuances, one's writing is usually just tepid as one's thoughts. Only a master can adjust the seasonings, so to speak, to make his prose acerbic even when his thoughts are as tasteless as Slick Willie's sexual advances.

Now, back to the subject at hand: Does analyst 'upgrade' or 'update'? The answer is easy. If the analyst says "Today I change the mind I had yesterday" then it is UPDATE because it involves the different days of the week. However if he says "I change it from Hold to Strong Hold" then it's UPGRADE because it involves different grades of strength suggested for hanging on to one's bloody dead stocks.
