FLEX for a case in point. I was long FLEX for months and did very well on FLEX.. Well over 75% once for each earnings quarter (sold it only once). So I sold near the 52 week high at 79ish, watched it drop without shorting it, reentered long on the ensuing rally sold when the uptrend ended, and this time, being smarter I shorted FLEX in this last downtrend. My only error was covering too soon. FLEX is not the only one. I did the same with 5 of my past holdings. Should I have held FLEX in its move down from 80 to 50...never.
