Yep... 3M's definitely a gorgeous company. I don't own any now, but if I can ever get out of the red on some of these trashy little small caps I've suckered myself into buying, I might.

One benefit of 3M (and most of the big caps) is that they are growing internationally. With so many Asian and European economies either coming out of recession or just getting on their feet, that international growth will reap big benefits, even if our economy turns south.

My only concern at this point is that many blue chips have run well ahead of earnings. There has been so much cash chasing stocks this year that some of these stocks might need to take a breather for a while.
