If you read the posts surrounding the original press release, you'll find one from me that states that I've never, ever seen a disclaimer like this in a new product announcement. Financial statements, yes, but not in product announcments. Scumbria said that AMD does this all the time, but neglected to post any other new product press releases that demonstrated this. To have a disclaimer like this is very unusual. It certainly isn't the message you want to put out with the announcement of this new support. And even if they wanted to include a cautionary statement just as a CYA, this is a pretty specific statement about a pretty specific potential problem.

There have been enough other players in the market who've said that DDR is unstable to support AMD's concern (Sony, for example).
