Ancor Brings World's Largest Fibre Channel Switch to N+I; Company's
Superior Switch Technology Highlighted in Interoperability Demonstrations

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn., May 9 /PRNewswire/ --

Ancor Communications Inc. (Nasdaq: ANCR), a leading developer of Fibre Channel switches, will display its entire family
of SANbox(TM) Fibre Channel switches, including its 64-port SANbox Director, at the Networld + Interop Show in Las
Vegas this week.

Ancor will demonstrate the Multistage(TM) scalability feature of its SANbox switches in the Fibre Channel Industry
Association (FCIA) area, North Hall, Las Vegas Convention Center, Booth N2955. In addition to having the broadest line of
switches on the market, Ancor's switch technology bridges private, legacy devices with newer public loop products, helping
customers reduce IT costs. Ancor's Web-based SANsurfer(TM) fabric management software makes it easier to configure
storage resources with its fabric-wide management control, allowing users to change and grow the SAN fabric from a single
console.

"Ancor has worked hard to provide its customers with a technically superior product line," said Carla Kennedy, Ancor's vice
president of marketing. "Our recent OEM and reseller agreements validate our technical strengths and exceptional
customer service. Ancor's N+I demonstrations will allow attendees to see first-hand how our switches are helping customers
solve their day-to-day data storage problems."

Ancor is also participating in an interoperability demonstration with switch vendors Gadzoox Networks Inc., Vixel
Corporation, and McDATA Corporation. The demonstration, which will also take place in the FCIA area, N2955, represents
a milestone toward the Open Standards Fabric Initiative (OSFI) to accelerate the normal standards adoption process for
Fibre Channel switch-to-switch interoperability.

As a certified partner in Legato Systems' Celestra Consortium, Ancor will participate in a serverless backup demonstration
with Legato and Chapparal at Ancor's display in the Legato pavilion, N341. Legato's Celestra technology provides an open
and distributed architecture within the SAN environment to free up the application server from processing large amounts of
data.

Ancor will also join other storage vendors in the Connex(TM) sponsored NAS-SAN Technology Forum, "Storage in
Perspective," to be held in the MGM Grand Conference Center, Las Vegas. Ancor's SANbox switches will be part of a SAN
integration demonstration managed by Connex's SANavigator(TM) storage management software.
