DJ>"Orr speaking to Yossarian..."
couldn't do it justice, old friend. We're in the final few weeks here - closing down this house, packing and shipping things to San Francisco. Last coupla weeks - has been that catharsis of emptying out the attic, deciding what to keep, what to give to charity, and what to distribute to relatives and friends...
...picture of Gonzo's mom graduating from MedSchool sometime in the 40's - looking like Marie Curie, in her white lab-coat - a lone woman standing among a dozen male colleagues; tools that papa held in his hands; toys we never really forgot; posters of intolerably cute, long-haired British pop stars and surfer-boys, imaginary paramours that my sister sang to; my 1968 draft card in a box of letters - this anguished young man trying to find the words to tell his parents why he did not want to go to this war, while training to become an officer in an Airborne Unit. {sigh}
Got most of the books boxed yesterday; will be prepping a moto for truck transport today, while Madame has the fur unit checked out and inoculated down at the vet.
I'm not really here, and not home yet - certainly don't have the wherewithal to focus on finance: bon chance (^_^)
