Hi jim kelley; Re SDR and DDR prices for comparable products...

Actually, the pricewatch page pointed out by milo_morai underestimated the price difference between SDRA and DDR GeForce graphics cards. (Sorry I didn't catch it sooner.) Here is a more representative page, from BayAreaMicro:

computerhq.com

Asus Deluxe GeForce 256 SDR $281
Asus Deluxe GeForce 256 DDR $384

Asus Pure GeForce 256 SDR $215
Asus Pure GeForce 256 DDR $275

Elsa GeForce 256 SDR $217
Elsa GeForce 256 DDR $276

Guillemot Hercules 3D Prophet DDR-DVI $248
Guillemot Hercules 3D Prophet SDR $198

And, in fact, Guillemot suggests a $50 difference between its SDR and DDR GeForce cards:
guillemot.com

The $50 difference is not surprising, given the great press that the DDR boards have been picking up. Clearly the cost of the DDR chips is some part of that $50.

Assuming even a 50% CGS, the $50 difference would be $25 per card. Over four chips, the cost difference to the maker is around $6. Given that memory chips of this size generally sell for around $12, we get that DDR chips are selling for a price premium of around 50%. This is quite reasonably low, for a brand new technology, and my estimates are undoubtedly over estimates.

The website claims that they have Geforce2 boards, but I doubt it, it seems a bit early:

Elsa Erazor GeForce 2 32MB AGP Retail Box $399

A bunch more Geforce2 boards are "due in":

Asus V7700 Deluxe Geforce 2 32MB AGP $450
Asus V7700 Geforce 2 32MB AGP $399
Guillemot Hercules 3D Prophet II GTS 32MB $371
Leadtek Winfast Geforce2 GTS 32MB $371
