qveauriche,

<< Why is this HUGE? >>

Because Ruffian said so! <g>

... and because CDMA which for several years lagged GSM in wireless data services (and accessories) is not only catching up, in some cases it is leapfrogging GSM.

The fastest GSM PCMIA modems available today connect at the blazing speed of 9.6 kbps. Here we are talking V.90 speed, available today.

Better yet, Korea is gaining valuable data services experience, and producing revenue from data, and that is what this game is all about.

I have to admit that my investor enthusiasm is somewhat tempered by the user fact that a data cable is not yet available for my new Audiovox tri-mode on Verizon and that for the short term future I'm limited to CDMA 14.4 kbps connectivity in the States (whine & moan) ... but that will pass.

The future of Qualcomm is data and CDMA is proving it can do it quicker, better, faster (and with Verizon's new national rate plan which necessitated swapping out my Qualcomm QCP 860 with data cables) at prices competetive with Europe - finally).
