Your "lack of love" is a subjective, unprovable accusation, particularly in this instance. Your willingness to judge the love of this father based on the little we know, and the semi-information we all have gotten, is exactly why the standards are stringent. You are declaring Juan "unloving" based on some action YOU think he should have taken- your own personal right-wrong definition- which not everyone is going to agree with, and which has nothing to do with his relationship with his son. There is absolutely nothing to indicate that this father wasn't a loving, caring parent in Cuba- or now- unless we decide that what yogi thinks means love should be the definition. His parenting certainly appears better than what passes for some parenting here in the US.
