In response to Microsoft's "advice" regarding the loveletter virus:

1) Customers can avoid being affected by this and other viruses by following standard best practices:
++ Never run an executable from someone you don't know.
++ Always have a good-quality virus scanner.
++ Always keep the virus scanner's signature files up to date.


What a joke! The executable comes from someone you know -- because you're in their address book. Duh! Following that advice does NOTHING to prevent infection.

Same holds true for the virus scanner. You could have had a virus scanner and up to date signature files and STILL been smacked. I should know!

That is the single stupidest response to the virus I've seen...
