Hey, a dead thread...I love it<g> Did you catch the plug Finnerty gave Liz Clayman this AM for PROX?

Just read your post, and came away with a question...I've been doing some amateurish investigating of this new UBS (right abbreviation???) port equipped home PC's etc, currently available in some discounters like circuit city and Office Depot (plus don't forget ole QVC and HSN)...

Greg, is this the universal bus you were talking about in your last post on this thread?

If so, I personally don't know how many computers in the SOHO mkt are even equipped with UBS ports...none of my 6 are, that's for sure. And a straw poll of my very active computer club doesn't reveal anyone rushing out to buy this added gizmo, feeling that their small biz are doing just fine with the tremendously expensive computer capital expenditure already laid out.

Plus, the gizmos that run off of UBS ports aren't that plentiful yet, that I've been able to determine, right? Like external drives and external CD-ROMs basically, (both CD-R and CDRWs?)

Looks to me like there will have to be a major replacement SOHO replacement cycle to get the UBS ports to support this PROX desire to "service" the SOHO market 100% growth explosion he's talking about by 2003...a mere 30 mo away, basically.

All this sounds like there's some "time slippage" due to slow down this PROX until the upgrade cycle in SOHO really gets into gear..., and thus the PROX stock price.

Am I missing something? All constructive comments welcome.

At least Finnerty goosed the stock this AM...up $9 for the day...not a bad move, eh?

His premise? Something about an FCC decision rendering in the next 30-60 days that could send PROX flying.
