"We don't take the position that Myotrophin doesn't work, but we don't take the position that it works, either," said FDA reviewer John Feeney. "We just think there's not enough evidence. For that reason we think it would be hard to approve."
OTOH
Still another agency official, Dr. Robert Temple, said the FDA brought the issue to the panel because there is some disagreement within the agency about the drug's benefits. And Dr. Robert Miller, chairman of the California Pacific Medical Center's neurology department, said; "I find this clinical study very convincing." (Note - I think he was testifying and is not a member of the panel, but I'm not sure yet.)
