Vendit, When Cisco computes its profits from operations, they do not include the expense of payroll taxes they have to pay on exercised options. I am not an accountant but, to me, this seems very misleading. When they report .14 per share from operations, I would like to think they would include what are normally considered operations expenses. Payroll taxes would seem to always fall in this category. What do you think about not treating payroll expense on stock options as a non-expense item? Bloomberg reported today they do not include this item.
