I feel that we are on the verge of some excellent developments that seem like they may time in there announcement as the fed increases rates next week. The announcements may take longer or they my come earlier, however they will have substantial effects in moving QCOM, back into its superstar limelight ,adding to the excitement in the future earnings stream. The things that I belive will announce soon will be 1)Nokia caves in and dose a huge deal with QCOM .2)Japan will go with CDMA2000 as opposed to WCDMA and 3)China will speed deployment of CDMA networks into China as the WTO including the USA gives the nod to full trade status.Europe is heated in spectrum auctions and will choose its 3G technology looking at the USA and ASIA going CDMA2000, economies of scale come into focus for giant companies such as Verizon (Vodaphone-Airtouch) as they choose the next standard.WCDMA is the worse case scenario and QCOM gets royalties on any flavor CDMA but much more on CDMA2000 as they would remain hugely dominate in there chip sets for infrastructure and handsets. All of this has to be a situation being crunched by the teams at Nokia and QUALCOMM as they try to hash out a deal where the stakes are enormous, meanwhile paying its dues now for many months the Swedish giant Ericsson looms in the back round getting ready to try to take market share from Nokia......
