Not wise but I transferred my love of reading and teaching from the English classroom to the Financial arena, and I was my own guinea pig. After a losing bout with 'options' I lost any arrogance or 'ego'.. I could have been easily been knocked out of the ballpark in the Asian crisis like a number of my trader friends, but I recovered. Never go on margin. I saw that the worst thing you can do is be in denial and 'blame others' for mistakes or not admit you made some wrong decisions.
