movie review: "GLADIATOR" solid A, 4-star
Russell Crowe plays a former Roman General turned gladiator
Maximus has a mission, and commands respect from his men
I love such films
sort of a remake of "Demetrius and the Gladiators" with Victor Mature
outstanding fight scenes, excellent story line
very little if anything predictable, fast moving
leading lady could have exuded sex if they chose, but NOT
excellent intrigue, honor, bravery, sacrifice, vengeance, brutality
extremely realistic settings, casting, weapons
you gotta love the brutality, I always do
this film will earn some Oscar, unsure which
maybe cinematography, costumes
even had a couple tigers in the coliseum, nice kitty
as for the stock market, who cares?
