I don't view the Euro as a tie to gold tho i know many do.
The Euro in my opinion was constructed as ease for Europes transactions but it did attempt, to present itself as currency that would be a peer to the US dollar on a global base.
I don't feel the Euro will play a major part to boost gold if it does collapse . Will it, well that depends on how the people in Europe react to its demise.
I am more worried about the US dollar starting to look like the peso with this inflationary spiral. At least with the Euro you can run for cover to your own countries currency. What do we run for cover to?
