You may be right about the .254. Williams was 2 for 14 in the 1944 World Series, and 5 for 25 in the 1946 World Series. That's 7 for 39 - for a batting average of .179! I am confused about the "brushing up". Shouldn't you be brushing up on Mike Scott, since you considered it obscure? Tom
