Update:

1. I downloaded/installed the MSFT update. It had been a long time since I had updated. The file was quite large. <gg>

2. The colors of the title bars were still multi-hued. So I went to Control Panel\Display\Appearance tab. There you can change colors until your heart is content.

So, I'm good as new with an up-to-date computer to boot.

I think maybe if I had tried the magnifier with another Windows application instead of IE4, I probably would have been OK.
