This story about DIVA can't be right can it ? broadcastingcable.com VODer Diva Files IPO Diva Systems, which is developing video-on-demand systems for cable operators, filed to go public,hoping to raise as much as $75 million. A securities filing disclosed few details, but it shows that the company has about $50 million in cash left and is burning cash at the rate of $11 million a month. So it has around eight months worth of cash. Diva so far has burned through $230 million without generating any meaningful revenues. The company has a proprietary system for delivering VOD movies and other products to cable subscribers. Last week Charter Communications to launch Diva?s OnSet VOD service in some systems. Insight Communications cable is fairly bullish on the company?s product, and it is being tested at one MediaOne Group property.
