Could be wrong, but I thought the value of NT shares can be treated as dividend income, while selling BCE now will be taken as capital loss. Dividends are taxed lower than capital gains is it not? Capital loss can offset capital gains (if you still have any this yr).

Ask a tax professional. I'm only guessing here.
