A.T. & T. already has a working model of direct delivery music through one of their subsidiaries, Liberty Media, which owns Liberty Digital [LDIG]. LDIG owns SonicNet.com and DMX music, the largest direct distributor of music in the world. . . bigger than Muzak.

In addition, the many millions of set-top boxes that A.T. & T. have stored in their warehouses. . .are awaiting the nationwide rollout of digital cable [fibre optics]. This is the same crop of set-top boxes that MSFT invested $1 billion with A.T. & T. simply for a guarantee of 500,000 units to incorporate their Windows CE operating system.

Broadband is NOT today's cable modems and DSL. . .but rather the blazing speed of fibre optics connected right at the house. I live about 20 miles outside of downtown Nashville . . . out in the country. . .yet, I have digital cable [fibre optics] strung on the poles running down the country lanes all around my property. . . owned by Intermedia Cable. And if that isn't enough, BellSouth is in the process of stringing competing fibre optics cable down these same streets.

Within about 1 year, we'll have plenty of digital music pumping right into my stereo. . . and the internet at speeds of around 10Mbps. . .about 200 times faster than a phone modem at top speed. . . and about 4 to 10 times faster than a cable modem.

And through satellite transmission, every major U.S. car manufacturer is going to offer direct music transmission to cars by 2002. The internet, music and global positioning right on your dashboard at the blazing speed of satellite. . . [similar to Direct TV].

I mean no disrespect, but I don't know where you got your info regarding no direct transmission until 10 years. . .and I am willing to bet that in 10 years the average person will not even remember MP3 or Napster.
