Thanks q y and Walter for your insightful responses. I guess I've gotta try writing covered calls for a while....Although I think it might be a bit difficult in this environment to fiugre out which way the market is going to go short term, I'm going to give it a try and see what happens. Also I'll look on here to see what you guys are doing. I'll have to do it like Jim does with a smaller portion in short term positions while keeping my long term intact.

q y, you make much more sense with longer posts. I appreciate your view of AOL especially in light of the MSFT and INTC comparisons (or contrasts depending on your POV.) AOL is no MSFT...especially in terms of making a profit, however, like a broadcast company, I'm tending to look more at an increase in ad revenue to support the growing network as opposed to getting money directly from subscribers. I know they couldn't continue if all they had for a revenue stream was flat-rate pricing, but advertising gives me a little hope for the long term view. Hopefully options can make me some money in the short term (with you guys help of course.) :-)
