Duke,

AMD has 1.4 billion of debt, and 900 million of current liabilities which is not the same as short term debt. It includes Accounts payable etc. On the other hand, AMD has 900 million in cash.

A big portion of the long term debt will be wiped out as the bondholders convert the bonds to stock. (I believe about $500 million). The rest of the debt will be paid off this year as AMD earns about a billion dollars in year 2000.
