<<How many shares actually get repurchased will obviously depend on if they buy pre or post D-Day.>>

Eric B. made a brief comment after the PALM IPO that they would begin buying back shares AFTER the spinnoff. Why would you buy back with the PALM shares included as you would be buying 1.5 PALM shares, which is what you are trying to spin off?? With the two classes of stock they may buy back COMS V stock without the PALM shares between the date of record and the day of distribution, but I would expect most of the buy back to happen after the distribution as the publicity fades.

Given the irrationality of the market, COMS may be particularly harshly punished after the distribution, and the share price could go way down. COMS is in a great position here, as few companies with declining stock prices have the cash that COMS has. What better time to be buying your own shares?

If COMS falls to $20 a share after the distribution, they could potentially buy back 50 million shares. That's almost 15% of the company!
