Eric, Microsoft's OS already runs on Itanium, they will ship together - don't even give that a second thought. The development began before first silicon and was booting in a week - remember? It's been more than 2 months since you posted this. You may be interested in the following: zdnet.com An official demonstrating the product cautioned that the version in the booth was a pre-developer release now circulating inside Microsoft among a handful of software developers.
