I think the answer to your question is "Pricing power".

Cisco owns the internal IP market. That gives them pricing power. Intel (used to own) high end personal computer market (Pricing power). AMAT is currently the leader in something, aren't they (Pricing power).

All Intel ever had to do to hurt AMD in the past was lower the price of it's top-end chips so that AMD couldn't make any money with it's top end chips. I for one, hope (and think) that this situation is changing, but I (and the investment community) am not sure yet. Until investor's think that AMAT won't catch cold any time INTEL wants it to, it won't get a good valuation.

Plus, didn't AMD (because of Intel's pricing power) miss targets continually? People, even now, do have a little memory. But not much. Take heart. And good luck.

Macro economics looks to doom us all short term.
