Were these your comments below, or from the article ?

<<Can the Fed go too far too fast? Yes. This should not only help us today, but it reduces the likelyhood of a nasty selloff going into the weekend. I may get more aggressive soon buying selective techs and oil stocks on margin.>>

If that was your "take" - BINGO ! & Right On the Money !

... great minds think alike (VBG) ! - you know; this thread was way, way ahead of the market on the disconnect on Oil & Nat Gas prices and the underlying value that would be realized sooner, or later by the market - then that the earnings of the E&P subsector would be so compelling that THEY would be THE sector to own -as they just were...

"NOW" - it appears to me, that the collective-think tank of this thread is picking up on the FED over-doing it here...

I think the Fed know's this... but, they have to quash the "wealth effect" - have to signal that they are "on top" of things etc - and I think .50 bp here may just do it.

We may just have seen inflation snuffed out and with still outstanding earnings & topline revenue growth in Tech - it may be the "Sale of the Decade" here for tech investors.

There are many people like myself who missed the great buying opp of Oct 1998 and don't want to miss the Tech Train again... The Internet & Broadband revolution IS real and it is ONLY in the 2nd inning of a 9 inning game imho.

This is a MUST buying opp for "new" tech imho - the premier new hi-growth companies, the "next" Cisco's, Lucents & Time Warners are what has to be bought here and perhaps along with some old tech like MSFT CSCO INTC as well. I'm not talking about the .com wannabe's with avant garde business models - but, the RFMD NTAP JNPR FDRY VOD WCOM's of techland.

If not now - when ?
