Thanks. Oh I knew there have been problems there, my thinking now is that if A. Greenspan goes just a little too far here with his outmoded Phillips Curve methodology and raises rates one or two times too many, the rest of the world will feel it as much if not more stopping nascent recoveries in their tracks. Just like how Mexico nearly collapsed in 1994 and S. America was facing trouble then too. Japan Nikkei was down 5% last night. Lowest level now in quite some time. I think he is acutely aware of this though. Inflation and high growth fears could quickly reverse again, it is quite a balancing act.

Salmon, that is interesting. Probably Chile is #1 now ahead of Alaska and the NW because of the overfishing up here or 1,000 miles north of me. Lots of prime runs have been dangerously depleted.

True story: My great grandfather owned the first and only Studebaker dealership in all of S. America years ago. He actually drove one over the Andes, it took 2 weeks total. He had to remove the tires in certain places and replace with specially mounted traction devices to drive on the railroad tracks. I think it was a PR stunt. This was the first passage of the Andes by a machine other than steam locomotive. Apparently it caused quite a stir in the news.

Regards
