<<.... It only looks stock!! Sure does cost more though>>

I can relate !!

I dont do any "rubbing in mine...she is show quality. The most she will do is by herself on the track for the 1/8 or 1/4. I have of course had the occasional "street race", but it has to be the right time and place. I am well aware how dangerous that much horsepower can be and know that I put others besides myself at risk if I hit the gas pedal....so I only do so under the right conditions. I mean some 19 year old snot nose kid pulls up next to me in his pumped up mustang, i will laugh and send him on his way. The right car and the right place and I may hit the gas! I'll never forget this guy coming into the shop...he had a brand new 99 vette. Spent like $15k having a turbo ( go figure )specially built for it. Anyway, he comes in to the shp saying he just had all this work done and wanted to run against something fast to see what he had. My buddy said "keith, your not doing anything, take this guy out and run him ( we have a private 1/4 strip at the shop )". The guy balked when he found out I had a firebird. He said he wanted something faster <ggg>. I told him to beat it, and I'd pull out something faster. First run, he of course is all over me at the start. Even with all my rear end and chasis work, thats still alot of HP's cranking out of a 410 gear and six speed. As soon as I hit 3rd, I plowed right past him. He says his foot slipped off the gas and he wanted to run again ( how do you mess up a short run with an automatic transmission in a 99 vette ? ). Well, this time, I got off 1st gear a little lighter and nursed her into to 2nd, with very little wheel spin. When I hit 2nd without losing the rear end, I hit the floor and went for third. heck, by the time I got to third I was was blowing by him so fast it was ridiculous. I nailed him much worse then the first run. Anyway, the guy was freaking. He just couldnt believe he blew all that money and then an additional $15+k, and he got used by a....by a freakin pontiac. Whats funny is the way my car is set up, I am not even hitting my stride until I am hitting 3rd pretty hard. I mean that 410 gear and etc....usually grandma and he chevy caprice 6 cylinder can take me off the line in first gear. But when she hits third, look out. Anyway, this guy didnt even see the power. I had him used and spent before I even hit my real power band.

Turns out he was a meteorologist and did pretty good for himself. He took a business card with him and 2 months later, that custom built turbo was in the trash heap and we gave him the real set up. Stroked, with a blower and etc, etc...... Now that thing is so mean, he is scared to drive it and is trying to sell it !!!!

Life is funny some times !!

Back to the real world - I am shocked. Do I see green !! Jeepers, looks better then all that red I am so used to seeing!! But I'll take it !!!

have a great night
