I disagree, Praxis, based on my personal experience as a supplier to Intel. Intel's motherboard facility is in the Portland area, where they do design, prototype, and small volume runs. They have company owned facilities around the world for volume production. When I last called on them, this included Intel operations in Puerto Rico and Malaysia. Third party manufacturing is probably for overflow requirements only.
