My calculator gives the same diluted EPS -- numbers work fine for shares outstanding. Perhaps it has to do with some weighted average for the diluted shares? But they report the number of shares used for the per share calculations. You get $1.16 if you simply average the diluted share counts for 4Q99 and 1Q00.

The other two quarters listed (4Q99 and 1Q99) work out simply. See: amd.com

I am sure there are SEC and general accounting requirements for how these calculations are done and someone on SI-AMD will enlighten us (or contact investor relations).
