I am actually AMAZED that CSCO has not taken the bold gambit of buying out one of the top old-world telco equipment vendor like ALA.

With their market cap, it is entirely possible and would have CEMENTED CSCO's entry into the Carrier space in one easy shot (instead of buying all these two-bit players like Pirelli, etc.)

Maybe even ALA or ERICY merger would have been nixed by the gov't of US and EU?
