But were they aware? Not until they slammed into the two pine trees that Bera adroitly avoided. Wrapped in the fog of her own ethereal world, Bera failed to notice their cries for help. It was not until she was quietly sipping hot chocolate at the lodge nestled at the foot of the mountain that she noticed their absence.

The lodge, the reader must know, was the fruition of a dream that Klaus Weiderhofer had one night when he was four years old and sucked his thumb.....
