What's interesting is it appears that past rate increases are begining to have a dampening effect. It's always puzzled me that the analysts (and the idiots on CNBC) kept talking about a need for more increases since those that have been implemented had had no effect. What do these people think - that once a rate goes up that there is an immediate reaction? This economy is like an oil tanker and it's taken some time for the increases to work their way through the economy. So while folks were suggesting that past increases were having little effect what I believe was actually taking place is that these increases were taking time to work into the economy and that we're begining to now see the effects.

If this is accurate then Greenie will raise again (as predicted by many) on Tuesday and that could be the last. If Greenie gives any indication whatsoever that inflation looks to be under control again or at a minimum that the past increases are begining to have a material effect then the market should rally and the money sitting on the sidelines should begin coming back in.

At that point we will get a better picture of which sectors are considered to be most attractive since at this time, given volumes, it's difficult to tell. I'm betting telecom and communications is still a winner.
