Vodafone CEO Sees Strong Growth In Intl
Businesses

Dow Jones Newswires

NEW YORK -- Vodafone Airtouch PLC (VOD) is benefiting from global
demand and expects its businesses to continue strong growth worldwide,
said Sam Ginn, chairman and chief executive.

Vodafone expects "global growth penetration" to move to 70% from 35%
in five years, Ginn told CNBC Friday.

He said he sees "billions of minutes" moving from fixed networks to
wireless platforms, and use of "third-generation" wireless product, Code
Division Multiple Access (CDMA), increasing. In fact, the CEO thinks that
CDMA will become the wireless standard in the next five years, and that
that will mean huge wireless opportunities.
