New Orders for Acrodyne Products Mark a Successful NAB Show
BLUE BELL, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 11, 2000--

New technology Quantum IOT based transmitter
product line receives strong approval from buyers
Acrodyne Industries, Inc., a leading manufacturer of television transmission systems, announced today orders from various organizations located in the United States, Latin America, Africa, and Asia. In addition to the eight Quantum IOT equipped transmitters sold just prior to the NAB Show in April, these orders included the high power Diacrode water-cooled transmitter, Acrodyne solid-state transmitter, medium power air-cooled Diacrode transmitter, and low power UHF and VHF transmitters.

The totally new IOT based transmitter - The Quantum Line - was featured in the Acrodyne booth during NAB. This long anticipated introduction by Acrodyne was successfully received by United States broadcasters as well as many international visitors. Designed for high reliability with simple, elegant solutions and appropriate use of advanced technologies, these transmitters can serve both analog and digital applications with power levels up to 280kW analog and 120kW digital. Conceived by broadcasters and designed by the EMMY award winning talents that invented the technology, this product offers the most progressive technology in television transmission today.

Also attracting a great deal of attention were the Rohde & Schwarz air- and liquid-cooled television transmitters displayed at the Acrodyne booth. Acrodyne and Rohde & Schwarz, the world's foremost manufacturer of solid-state transmitters, announced in February the signing of an agreement to market each organization's products in the United States and Europe. These solid-state broadband transmitters offer medium to high power outputs, lower cost of acquisition, low cost of operation, high performance, and flexibility over the entire UHF band.

The Adjacent Channel Technology (ACT), which simultaneously transmits NTSC and DTV, offered only by Acrodyne and presently in use in several stations was also on display, along with Acrodyne's very popular TR Series scalable low/medium power analog or digital solid-state, and the TL Series (100W to 500W) transmitters.

Acrodyne Industries, Inc., the operating subsidiary of Acrodyne Communications, Inc., and a publicly traded company (NASDAQ:ACRO) has been an established and respected manufacturer of television broadcast equipment for over three decades. Acrodyne is a leading producer of technically advanced, high quality television transmitters.
