Elizabeth,

From Stockhouse:

teevee (ID#: 14669) could be a long long halt 5/12/00 10:36 1474339

I suspect the main reason for the halt is that core from the holes with the big results was not split. All of the core was sent to the lab. This immediately raised concerns with analysts who visited the project and voiced their concerns about similarities to Bre-X. There are new reporting standards which IWA fell below and has subsequently remedied, however, that does not mitigate prior actions and excuses. The exchange could keep the stock halted until the holes are redrilled and re-assayed. This would be in the CDNX stock exchange's interest in terms of maintaining confidence in the regulatory process. I certainly don't expect trading to resume any time soon.

and here is the response:

calcan (ID#: 60311) RE: could be a long long halt 5/12/00 11:21 1474727

Every time you open you mouth something resembling the bottom of an unflushed toilet comes out. Give your head a large shake and then go away.

Why are hypsters from ho' street in Vancouver so upset about reporting standards? Surely a more thorough scrutiny of results and how they were obtained and reported on is in everyone's best interests, especially at this stage? In the event that results can't be verified and duplicated by redrilling and re-assaying, I would like to think that its far better to nip this in the bud now rather than later.

regards,
teevee
