Murrey, It is likely to happen later rather than sooner. What I have found amusing is how the Goldman Sachs analyst was pushing Agilent, saying it will be added to the S and P 500. Even Goldman Sachs is not in the index as it has not been public for at least a year. I prefer to get JDSU added in the late fall as momentum turns to the Nasdaq. That would be perfect for a great runup. For now it is lacking positive EBITDA (and a PE) and that seems to be a a very important factor. They could always make an exception for JDSU as they probably are able to exercise judgement as well. A summer addition will probably not result in significant move in the stock. I think the merger and the business fundamentals would be the real driver behind this stock. The merger will be fun if it happens (I am somewhat optimistic). I expect to see a huge run up. I don't really care about the S and P adding JDSU anymore. It won't affect the stock price from an intermediate or long term holder's perspective. YES, i regret starting the S and P thing. Now I feel it is not significant for the JDSU stock price.
