I didn't read Andrew's post precisely, but I believe that a majority of the 2001 Greenfield fabs that Bronson was aware of were 300mm fabs.

Fully agree that if the equipment is going in during 2001, it's unlikely that a large number of wafers will be processed that year.

But then, I usually only worry about equipment being shipped; and let the chipmakers worry about where they'll get the money from to pay for it. ;^) [tongue firmly in cheek! deliberate attempt to provoke your normal reaction to that nonsense. LOL]
