CDT Wins Fiber Optic Orders Totaling $10 Million;
LEAF and Hybrid Fiber Optic Cable Used in Local Loop and Long Haul
PITTSBURGH, May 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Cable Design Technologies (NYSE: CDT), a leading worldwide provider of gigabit network connectivity products, announced today fiber optic cable orders totaling $10 million to be used by a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) and a Competitive Access Provider/Wireless Service Provider.
The cables include hybrid fiber optic cables by CDT and cables incorporating Corning's large effective area fiber (LEAF). LEAF fiber is designed to achieve higher capacity along greater distances thereby enhancing the performance of fiber optic networks that employ advanced dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) technology.
