If I were living under current Cuban conditions, the lack of money would not be the main reason for me wanting to escape, although it could be a contributing factor..... I have been very poor at times in my life, as a young child in the 1950's, and during the deep recession almost depression like conditions of 1973/74, but I would not have wanted to go to Cuba, China, the old Soviet Union etc, etc, just because I was seeking more money. Some Cubans want to come here for more money, but the repression there plays the greater role in my opinion. Yogi
