Nice story, Shalom. Most of us Americans will do almost anything not to be embarassed. You're handling of that situation shows some wisdom. If we can't admit small mistakes that are of no consequence ...

You should know though, that I don't ever poach my trout. I always grill them. Also, I always remove the guts before leaving the river. I don't remove the heads before cooking, but usually remove them before taking them into my house as my wife doesn't like them still on while she's eating.

Wed. was beautiful down on the river. Only ran into one other fisherman. Had a nice one on, but I kept too much tension on the line and he snapped the leader. The other fellow who was fishing gave me a couple of small nymphs with a brass head on the end and I caught a couple of brown trout on those, but none large enough to keep.

Just enjoyed being outside for most of the day and seeing all the wildlife. While I was fishing one hole, a turkey landed on the bank.
As I moved up the river a little it took off and flew into the woods. I never regarded a turkey as a graceful bird, but it was amazing to see it take off flying into the very dense woods -- such a big bird to fly through such narrow spaces and not collide with anything.

Have a blessed day today,

Barry
