Well, in my tracking of eBay auction counts and company revenues over the last 18 months, there has been almost a 100 percent correlation between auction counts and revenues.

Sure, if eBay could convert the 4 million auctions to houses and cars, then her statement would make sense.

But, I have seen no evidence that the introduction of big ticket items has had even a marginal impact on the average fee eBay gets per auction.

(There are a lot of houses listed on eBay, but I have yet to see houses sell with any frequency.)

And, until such time as I see evidence, I will assume that slowing growth in auction counts means slowing growth in revenues.

And the current quarter is shaping up to be a BIG disappointment.

Anybody want to place a wager???
